Britzer Garden is one of the most beautiful parks in Berlin. It is located in the South of the city and with 90 hectares one of the big green lungs of the city. You can spend your whole day here. The garden is huge, enchanting and beautiful. There are special exhibitions in spring and late summer, where thousands of tulips and dahlias draw in the crowds. It is quite a spectacular sight.

This wonderful park was created in 1985 for the Federal Garden Show. It has become one of the most attractive recreational areas in Berlin. There is so much to explore. Especially beautiful are the three big lakes that are embedded in a soft hilly terrain. Unfortunately swimming is forbidden. Still, sitting at the lake shore in summer time is one of the best things you can do. This enchanting place will make you forget the bustling city for a while. The park offers a lot of sitting areas, even some sun chairs.

Apart from the lakes you can also explore the many theme gardens, such as the rose garden, the rhododendron grove and the water garden. There are also animals kept here, sheep, goats, rabbits and donkeys. On Sunday afternoons the bee house opens its doors to the public. For kids there is a big playground with lots to explore, even some water features.

If you don´t feel up to walking through the 90 hectares of the Britzer Garden, you can also board the little train that will take you through some areas of the park. The ticket prices are not included in the entrance fee. Cafés and restaurants are also there. They are good for getting coffee, snacks and ice cream.

Since the Britzer Garden is that big, there are four main entrances. It is recommendable that you memorize where you entered the garden, especially if you came by car or left your bike somewhere. Bikes are not allowed in the park, neither are dogs.

The park is wheelchair accessible, there is also a wheelchair rental service available.

You will enjoy your stay here. It is such a wonderful place that will enchant you.
