Kantine Kohlmann is located in Skalitzer Straße, near the U-Bahn station Schlesisches Tor. So really Kreuzberg at its most Kreuzberg – spray paint, stray dogs and people looking stranded. If you want to experience this side of Berlin, the walk to the restaurant will serve as a little city tour.
At Kantine Kohlmann they serve German cuisine, tapas style, but also as main dishes. The dishes are mostly traditional German but newly interpreted and very, very well prepared. The taste is light and still well flavored. The dishes look good and taste even better.
The interior design is stylish and beautiful, which creates a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. On most nights this place is packed, but the service is very good and the waiting time for the food is not too long. The prices are moderate and very good for the high quality of products they use and the wonderful food. Best to order several dishes and indulge. It is best to book a table, especially on weekends.
