What makes Strandbar Mitte so special is not only the wonderful view of the beautiful Bodemuseum and the river Spree, but also the possibility to participate in the hugely popular open air dancing.

Lying in a deckchair you can enjoy the fantastic view. There is a self-service bar. While watching the boats float by, a whole afternoon can pass in the blink of an eye. There are some trees but most seats are not in the shade, so if you are a sun lover this is good news. The best time to come is the evening, when you can watch a beautiful sunset.

The popular dancing on the river bank starts in Mai until October. Nearly every night there is a dancing program, mostly salsa, swing and tango. Sometimes you can even participate in an introduction course and after that the dance floor is open to all who love to move to the music. The dance floor is often crowded and very good dancers show their skills. It is a mixed crowd from young to old. Many people are gathering to watch this lovely sight. The atmosphere on warm nights is quite enchanting. This is definitely a place to see.
