Häppies / Prenzlauer Berg / Berlin

Häppies is just great and if you eat here, one thing is for sure, you will be happy. Häppies is a very, very small restaurant that serves one specialty only – German dumplings. As far as we are concerned, the best in town.
Häppies has different varieties of German dumplings on offer. The menu is small but there is something for every taste. Sweet as well as salty and some quite extraordinary. You should try them all! You can feel that the nice owner of the restaurant loves German dumplings. They taste just heavenly and can be quite addictive.
Unfortunately the restaurant is small and only has a few tables and a counter to eat at. So it is not a place to sit down for hours, but more of a drop in drop out kind of place, where you grab a quick bite.
Häppies sells six to seven different dumpling dishes and almost all of them are very creative and innovative variations of the traditional German dumpling. Bärbel for example is a dumpling filled with goats´cheese, walnut and honey, covered with rocket salad pesto and dried cranberries. It sounds like a funky combination but the taste is incredibly good. Netti is a dumpling filled with plum jam, coated in warm butter and sugar with poppy seeds. This is something you often get either in ski resorts or at Christmas markets. If you are looking for a quick but good and creative meal, check this place out.
