The Werder island is a uniquely beautiful and enchanting place. You will find yourself transported to the northern shores of Germany or maybe even Sweden. It definitely has a costal feeling to it. While strolling through the small alleys you can enjoy the quietude that surrounds you. The island is only connected with the mainland by a small bridge. There you can rent a boat to explore the Havel as well as the wonderful Schwielow lake. With all this water surrounding the island you will feel like you are on vacation. There are cobble stone streets, small houses, a church and an old windmill and lovely gardens to explore.

If you cross the island and go to the waterfront you will come across the fish restaurant Arielle. Fish is smoked and sold here and they have a big wooden terrace that reaches far into the water. It is one of the best spots to enjoy the sunshine and watch the sailing- and rowboats pass by. You don´t have to eat there, just have something to drink and enjoy the splendid view.

A stroll over the island is a wonderful opportunity to relax and unwind.
