Krumme Lanke is a very nice lake, which is located in the southwest of Berlin. This lake is smaller than Schlachtensee, which is only a stone´s throw away. The water quality is very good.  During summer season this is a popular lake for swimming.

There is a 2,5 kilometer long trail around the lake that is very pretty and nice for a short stroll. Especially on weekends many people enjoy this place. Joggers also like this lake. If they are very ambitious they run Schlachtensee and Krumme Lanke.

The lake is surrounded by the trees of Grunewald. When the breeze ruffles the tree leaves and the sun glitters on the water, you will feel a deep sense of peace. There are sunbathing areas for the sun worshipers. It can be pretty packed when days are hot. The good connection with public transport and the great location attracts many people. If you are looking for a little peace you will have to search for a secluded place around the lake. But note that part of the lake shore is fenced off due to nature protection. You should not trespass.
